Qi Jun, president of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, previously stated that my country is “the largest construction site in the world”, and engineering construction drives the rapid development of the construction machinery industry. However, my country’s requirements on the emission of construction machinery products have been relatively loose, which makes the market flooded with a large number of high-emission products, which has become a heavy burden on the environment.

Therefore, the industry calls on the domestic construction machinery industry to take the road of energy conservation and environmental protection. At the same time, the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Industrial Energy Conservation” also shows the overall goal of industrial energy conservation: by 2015, the energy consumption of industrial added value above designated size will be reduced by about 21% compared with 2010. The strict requirements put forward by the state also make construction machinery enterprises have to put energy conservation and environmental protection in an important position in their development strategies.

Whether in terms of reducing the environmental burden or breaking foreign trade barriers, the road to energy conservation and environmental protection will become the mainstream trend in the development of construction machinery. In the future, the development of China’s machinery industry will pay more attention to transformation and upgrading, and in the specific implementation strategy, energy conservation and environmental protection will become the main development direction.
